The visionaries at FPA wanted to enhance patient care by becoming one of the first physician practices in the Lexington, Kentucky, area to be completely paperless. The nine physicians and their 35 employees provide healthcare services to patients at two facilities and needed to ensure that all patient records are accessible to authorized personnel regardless of location. FPA engaged IntelliSuite to help realize this vision.

To meet the paperless office requirements of FPA, IntelliSuite deployed AllScripts Impact MD EMR solution. By deploying Citrix MetaFrame Presentation Server, IntelliSuite virtualized all FPA computer programs in order to make them available wherever needed. To secure the implementation, IntelliSuite used Citrix Secure Gateway Services, Web Interface, and SonicWall Firewall.

This solution now allows authorized employees to access medical information and patient records from anywhere, office or home, thereby meeting some of the requirements of the Healthcare Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)

IntelliSuite provides Help Desk support to FPA employees and physicians. In order to assure smooth operations of the IT infrastructure, IntelliSuite implemented a managed IT services platform to proactively monitor and report on critical systems. This system allows IntelliSuite to resolve issues before they interrupt business.
